The following is not a Hawthorn organised ride, however I think that there would be sufficient interested to warrant posting here.
Please see below and the external contact if you have any questions.
We are very excited to announce a new cycling event to be held on
Friday 30th September 2016 (GRAND FINAL EVE HOLIDAY) to encourage visitors to our region.
This recreational event is offering participants a choice of routes to suit the casual cyclist through to the more seasoned rider. The shorter route will take riders to the neighbouring township of Dunolly.
The longer ride visits Wareek ,Rathscar, Homebush, Avoca, Amphitheatre, Lexton, Talbot, Red Lion, Craigie and returns back to Maryborough.
All rides start and finish near the Maryborough railway station.
We invite you to come with your friends to Central Goldfields Shire and cycle back through time. Enjoy the villages of the goldfields cycling along gently undulating roads, minimal traffic and open spaces. This would be an ideal ride for cyclists training for “Around the bay in a day” ride 8th October.
The two rides on offer are
1.”Gold Rush” …… 116km for $55
2.” Welcome Stranger”….. 46km $25
(to Dunolly and Back..popular coffee stop)
Entries will be accepted on the day. However, the ticket will be $5 more.
Refunds available up to 7 days prior to event date (ie 23/9/16 ) less $10 booking fee
Both rides are fully supported with a SAG wagon, St John’s first Aid and food/drink vouchers.
The food/drink vouchers are valid at the morning tea stop at Avoca (longer ride) and after the event for lunch at the catering “pop-ups” at the start/finish area near the Maryborough Railway station. Other food options are available at nearby cafes.
This event is a fundraising opportunity for local service clubs who will be providing catering and marshalling for this event.
We hope you can come to this event and enjoy a couple of our special rides .
