Big things happening with the Juniors
As you may already know, Hawthorn Cycling Club now own the Alpe de Buffalo junior tour, which incorporates the Victorian Junior Hill Climb Championship. We’ll be running this over the weekend of the 4th/5th of April next year. This is an exciting event on a number of levels. Firstly, it is an iconic event and one of the favourites on the NJRS calendar. Secondly, it is the first time that Hawthorn will be running this event. Finally, it has scope to grow into a national event.
Backing straight onto this, we will be running a 4 day training camp in Bright. This will be at the Alpine Fitness Centre for our under 15 and under 17 athletes. The accommodation can handle up to 32 people so can include parents should they wish. It’s a fantastic facility – there will be plenty of hard riding, skills development and opportunities to build strong social networks. This will run from Sunday 5th evening through to Thursday 9th, leaving you plenty of time to get home or wherever for Easter.
We’d love to have a catch-up with all of the parents to go through some of the logistics and are hoping that you can join us on Monday 25th November at the velodrome.
